The Regal
portrait style.
A painted portrait in the manner of a seventeenth-century oil: velvet behind, light from high on the left, and brushwork you can see. A painting, not a photograph.
PetPhotos creates it from photos you already have — your own pictures guide the result, so it still looks like your animal. It's part of the Studio pack at $35. Your gallery is ready in about 25 minutes.

What the Regal look actually is.
How they're presented
Composed and still, three-quarter turned, the way a sitter would be.
What's behind them
A heavy velvet drape falling into shadow at the edges of the canvas.
How it's lit
Chiaroscuro from the upper left, with the far side deep in shadow.
How it's framed
Head and chest, centred and formal, canvas weave visible throughout.
You don't need to stage any of this, and you don't need to get the animal to sit still for it. The setting, the light and the framing are part of the style — you upload ordinary photos.
Who picks Regal
- A gift where the joke and the craft both have to land
- A hallway or a stairwell, where a painting outranks a photograph
- Anyone who has priced a commissioned pet painting and put it off
